5 Best Touch Screen Chromebooks In 2018

There are a lot of traditional Chromebooks that you can purchase today, but if you’re looking for a more flexible Chromebook solution, you might want to consider picking up a Chromebook with touch screen capabilities. Most higher end Chromebooks come with touch screen capabilities straight out of the box, but a lot of lower-end or mid-range models have normal displays.

That said, if you’re buying a Chromebook online, it’s always best to look at the tech specs to make sure the screen on your Chromebook is touch-compatible. Of course, when buying a Chromebook, you don’t want to go through hundreds of listings looking for whether or not a machine has touch screen capability or not. But, we’ve taken the liberty of doing that work for you, and below is the results of that. Here are the best touch screen Chromebooks that you can buy.

Google Pixelbook

First up on our list is the Google Pixelbook. Google had its own Chromebook long ago, but discontinued it to prepare the market for its next Chromebook offering: the Chrome OS powered Google Pixelbook. Now, this Chromebook will set you back almost $1,000, and while that might be a hard price point to swallow, you’re getting one of the best touch screen displays that money can buy on a Chromebook.

On top of that, the Google Pixelbook has some notable specifications over your traditional Chromebook. For one, it has a whole lot more storage space and a dedicated Intel i5 processor — if you so choose, you can even get it with an Intel i7 processor and more RAM.

Acer R11 Chromebook

Another excellent option that you have available to you is the Acer R11 Chromebook. This is actually a convertible laptop — you can flip it into a tablet or use it in the traditional laptop mode. As the name implies, it has an 11-inch display, and what’s pretty unique to it is that it is the glass, touch screen display and not the low-quality anti-glare matte display that accompanies so many Chromebooks.

At the $233 price point, this is easily one of the best and most detailed displays that you can pick up on a Chromebook. It’s got some fairly quick hardware and a long battery life, too. That said, it’ll be able to handle anything you throw at it, and it should last all day long before you need to throw it back on the wire.

Samsung Chromebook Plus

The Samsung Chromebook Plus is a nice mid-range device. It’s not going to hurt your pocket book like the Google Pixelbook will at its $500 price point. But, even at this price, the Samsung Chromebook Plus has an excellent touch screen display. It’s 12.3-inch in size, and it has an excellent 2,400 x 1,600 resolution. This provides some excellent detail in media and in reading text — the Chromebook is powerful as well, so it’ll be able to handle just about anything you throw at it.

HP Chromebook 11

Next up, we have the HP Chromebook 11. This Chromebook has one of the smaller displays on this list. Coming in at 11.6-inches, the display is most definitely small. However, the laptop does appear a little bigger because it does have a large bezel sitting around the screen. You can use touch to navigate it easily, and it does provide some really good detail for movies and text. It has a long, all-day battery as well — you won’t have trouble getting close to twelve hours out of this Chromebook before needing a charger.

Acer Chromebook Spin 13

The Acer Chromebook Spin 13 is a great touch screen Chromebook as well. In fact, it might be one of the few competitors that the Google Pixelbook has. It has a beautiful touch screen display — aside from those touch capabilities, you’ll get some beautifully detailed media and sharp text. It even comes with a Wacom stylus in the event that you don’t want to use touch for everything.

Similar to the Acer R11, you can fold up into a tablet or use it in traditional laptop mode. It has a long lasting battery life as well.

Verdict

As you can see, you have a few different options as far as touch screen Chromebooks go. If you want to pick up the best of the best, you really cannot get any better than the Google Pixelbook. But, if you don’t want to break the bank, the Acer Chromebook Spin 13 or Samsung Chromebook Plus aren’t bad options either.
