How To Fix AMD Radeon Error 43 On Windows 10

One of the main reasons why you will be getting this error on your computer is because the graphics card driver has notified Windows 10 that the device is not working properly. Most of the time this is due to a problem with the driver itself which is why this is where we will be concentrating our troubleshooting efforts.

Method 1: Update your graphics card driver

If you have outdated graphics drivers installed in your computer then there’s a possibility that this is what’s causing the problem. Try getting the latest update then see if this fixes the issue.

Time needed: 5 minutes.

Update AMD Radeon driver

  1. Right click on the Start button.

  2. Click on Device Manager.

  3. Click on the forward arrow just before Display adapters.

  4. Right click on the Radeon graphics card then click on Update driver.

  5. Click on Search automatically for updated software drivers.

When a new update has been installed it’s best to restart your computer before checking if the issue still occurs.

Method 2: Roll back the graphics card driver to fix AMD Radeon Error 43

In case this problem occured right after you installed a new graphics card driver update then it’s very likely that the culprit is this new update. Try to roll back to the previous driver version and see if this fixes the problem.

  • Right click on the Start button. 
  • Click on Device Manager.
  • Click on the forward arrow just before Display adapters. 
  • Right click on the Radeon graphics card then click on Properties.
  • Click on the Driver tab.
  • Click on Roll Back Driver. If the button is greyed out then there is no previous driver to roll back to.

Method 3: Uninstall then reinstall the graphics card driver

If the two troubleshooting steps listed above fails to fix the problem then you should uninstall the driver then download a fresh version.

  • Right click on the Start button. 
  • Click on Device Manager.
  • Click on the forward arrow just before Display adapters. 
  • Right click on the Radeon graphics card then click on Uninstall device.
  • On the uninstall device window click on uninstall.
  • After the uninstall process has completed right click on your computer name on top of the Device Manager window then click on Scan for hardware changes. Windows will search for any missing drivers and install it.

After performing the steps listed above you will successfully fix the AMD Radeon Error 43 on Windows 10 issue.
