How To Fix Razer Synapse Not Opening Issue
Before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below it’s best to restart your computer first. This action refreshes the operating system and remove any corrupt temporary data that could be causing the problem.
There are several factors that can cause this particular problem ranging from a corrupted Synapse software to an outdated Windows update. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps you need to do to fix this problem.
Reinstall Razer Synapse
If the problem is caused by a corrupted software then the best way to fix this is to uninstall then reinstall Razer Synapse.
- Press Windows + R to launch the Run application. Type “appwiz.cpl” in the dialogue box and press Enter. A new window will pop up consisting of all programs installed on your computer.
- Perform the following actions for both Razer Synapse and Razer Core. Right-click on the application and select “Uninstall”.
- Press Windows + E to launch the file explorer. Go to the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer
- Click on the View tab present at the top of the screen and check “Hidden items”.
- 400″>Delete all the files present in this folder location. A UAC might pop up confirming your actions, if prompted, select Yes.
- Press Windows + E to launch the file explorer. Go to the following location: C:\ProgramData\Razer directories then delete all files.
- Restart your computer.
- Press Windows + R and type “devmgmt.msc”
- In the device manager, expand the category of Razer device you are using. Right-click on the device and select “Uninstall device”.
- Click “Uninstall” and make sure you check the option “Delete the driver software for this device”.
- Repeat this for all Razer devices.
- Unplug all Razer devices from your computer then perform a reboot.
- Turn off all firewall/antivirus applications.
- Install the latest version of Microsoft .NET Framework from its official website.
- Reboot your computer.
- Download the Razer Synapse from its official website and install the package.
Check if the Razer Synapse not opening issue still occurs.
Disable Razer Surround
There are instances when the Razer Surround feature can cause this particular problem which is why you will need to disable it.
- Press Windows + R to launch the Run application. Type “appwiz.cpl” in the dialogue box and press Enter. A new window will pop up consisting of all programs installed on your computer.
- Perform the following actions for both Razer Synapse and Razer Core. Right-click on the application and select “Uninstall”.
- Press Windows + E to launch the file explorer. Go to the following location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer
- Click on the View tab present at the top of the screen and check “Hidden items”.
- Delete all the files present in this folder location. A UAC might pop up confirming your actions, if prompted, select Yes.
- Press Windows + E to launch the file explorer. Go to the following location: C:\ProgramData\Razer directories then delete all files.
- Restart your computer.
- Download Razer Synapse software using the official website. Download it to an accessible location.
- Install the software. After the installation, log into your account and let Synapse connect to the internet.
- When the feature update pops up just cancel it.
- After it is done installing completely and fetching data from the internet, two notifications will appear on the top-left side: Razer Surround, Synapse Update
- Click on “Razer Surround” on that notification and then immediately cancel. Do not in any case update/upgrade/install Razer Surround.
- After canceling the surround, you can update the Synapse software by clicking the “Synapse Update” notification.
- Restart your computer
Check if the Razer Synapse not opening issue still occurs.
Install the latest Windows update
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should make sure that you are running on the latest Windows update.
- Type “Windows update” on the search bar then click the first search result which comes forward.
- Once in the update settings, click on the button which says “Check for updates”. Windows will automatically check for updates available and install them.
- After updating, restart your computer.
