How To Fix Outlook Not Sending Emails Issue

Before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below it’s best to restart your computer first. This action refreshes the operating system and remove any corrupt temporary data that could be causing the problem.

There are several factors that can cause this problem ranging from a large file attached to the email to an offline server. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps you need to do to fix this problem.

Check if the servers are online

The first thing you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the servers are online. Look in the lower right-hand corner of the Outlook window. If it says “Connected” or “Connected to Microsoft Exchange”, then the server is online.

If it says disconnected then you should check your internet connection. If it says working offline then click on the send/receive tab and choose Work Offline to reconnect.

Try resending the email message

Sometimes the quickest way to fix this problem is to simply resend the email message. You can do this by accessing the Outlook folder and clicking on the Send button again.

Most email providers have set a 20MB-25MB maximum file size for an attachment. Open the Outlook folder, right-click on the email that refuses to send and click Delete.
