Before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below it’s best to restart your computer first. This action refreshes the operating system and remove any corrupt temporary data that could be causing the problem.
There are several factors that can cause this problem ranging from a configuration issue to a service that has failed to start. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps you need to do to fix the problem.
Change compatibility of GeForce Experience
There’s a possibility that the GeForce Experience is not compatible with your computer. To check if this is what’s causing the problem you can try to change the compatibility setting.
- Right-click on the GeForce Experience application and select “Properties”.
- Navigate to the compatibility tab. Check both options “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and “Run this program as an administrator”. You can choose different operating systems other than the one you are using right now from the drop-down menu.
- Run the GeForce Experience

Reinstall the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages
One component that is needed by the GeForce Experience to function properly is the Visual C++ Redistributable packages. If the packages are corrupted then this problem can occur.
- Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=48145 .
- Click the Download button after selecting the language.
- Select “vc_redistx64.exe” and press Next. Soon after the download will commence. Save the file in an accessible location and run the exe file.
- After the installation is complete, restart your computer.

Change the NVIDIA Display Container LS Settings
The Nvidia display container LS is a service responsible for containing all Nvidia root features. These features include all the essential features required to run all the applications and services properly without any problems. If this service has not started then this particular problem can occur.
- Press Windows + R, type “services” in the dialogue box and press Enter.
- Navigate through all the services until you find “NVIDIA Display Container LS”. Right-click it and select ‘Properties’.
- Click on “Startup type” and select ‘Automatic’. Press “Apply” to save changes and exit.
- Right-click on the service and click on ‘Start’ to force start the service.
- Press Windows + R, type “msconfig” and press Enter.
- Navigate to ‘Services’ tab and check the line “Hide all Microsoft services”. Now all the operating system services will be stopped leaving behind all third-party services.
- Search all Nvidia related services present and ensure that they are all checked. Press Apply to save changes and exit.
- Restart your computer.

Reinstall the GeForce application
In case the GeForce application installed in your computer is corrupted then you should uninstall then reinstall it.
- Press Windows + R, type “appwiz.cpl” in the dialogue box and press Enter.
- Once in Programs and Features window, navigate through all the applications until you find GeForce Experience. Right-click it and select “uninstall”.
- After the uninstallation, download the latest version from Nvidia’s official website and install it accordingly.
- Restart your computer

Reinstall the graphics driver
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should reinstall the graphics driver.
- Press Win+R (Windows logo key and R key) at the same time to invoke the Run box.
- Type msconfig and click OK. Then the System Configurations will open.
- When System Configuration opens, click the Boot tab. Under Boot options, check Safe boot then click OK.
- When you’re prompted to restart your computer to apply these changes, click Restart then you will boot into Safe Mode.
- Go to your local hard disk by clicking on This PC then Local Disk C. You should be able to see the NVIDIA folder right there. Right-click on it and choose Delete.
- Click Start and type Run. Select Run, the Run dialog box will appear.
- Type “devmgmt.msc” in the run box and click the OK button which should open the Device Manager Window.
- Expand the “Display Adapters” field. This will list all network adapters that the machine has installed. Right click on the Nvidia adapter you want to uninstall and select “Uninstall”.
- Click “OK” when prompted to uninstall the device. This will remove the adapter from the list and uninstall the driver.
- Press Win+R (Windows logo key and R key) at the same time to invoke the Run box.
- Type msconfig and click OK. Then the System Configurations will open.
- When System Configuration opens, click the Boot tab. Under Boot options, uncheck Safe boot then click OK.
- When you’re prompted to restart your computer to apply these changes, click Restart.
- Download the latest NVIDIA driver for your computer from here https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx.
- Run the setup file and follow the instructions which appear on screen. Choose the Custom installation option and check all the boxes in the custom install options windows. Also check the box which states “perform clean install”.
- Restart your computer
