How To Fix Windows 10 Bluetooth Setting Is Missing Issue
Before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below it’s best to restart your computer first. This action refreshes the operating system and remove any corrupt temporary data that could be causing the problem.
There are several factors that can cause this particular problem ranging from a glitch in the software to the Bluetooth hardware module not present in your computer. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you will need to perform to fix this problem.
Verify if your computer has a Bluetooth hardware module
If this problem occurs while you are using a desktop computer then it’s best to start the troubleshooting by checking if the desktop has a Bluetooth hardware module. You won’t need to do this if you have a new laptop since these devices will usually have the Bluetooth feature. A desktop is different since most motherboards won’t have the Bluetooth feature.
- Press the Win key + X to open the Win + X menu.
- Select Device Manager on that menu.
- Look for the Bluetooth Radios category. That should be listed somewhere nearer the top of the window.
- If you can’t find Bluetooth Radios, click Network adapters on the Device Manager window. Bluetooth Radios might be listed there instead.
Another way to do this is by using the Settings app.
- Click the Start menu button and select Settings.
- Click Devices
- If you have Bluetooth, you should be able to select Bluetooth > More Bluetooth options.
In case your computer does not have a Bluetooth hardware module you can still get this feature by using a Bluetooth USB dongle.
Boot into Safe Mode and then Back to Normal Mode
If your computer has a Bluetooth hardware module then you can try to toggle between Safe Mode and Normal Mode. This will remove any software glitch that could be causing the problem.
- Hold the Windows Key and Press R. Type msconfig and click OK
- Go to the Boot tab and put a check on Safe Boot.
- Reboot the PC and it should boot into Safe Mode. Once in Safe Mode, the drivers should be installed automatically.
- Repeat Step 1 and 2 to uncheck Safe Boot and boot back into Normal mode.
