The Airplane Mode is a feature in Windows 10 that turns off all wireless signals going to and from your computer. The features that are disabled are Internet, Bluetooth, Cellular data, GPS, GNSS, and NFC (Near field communications). Normally, this feature has to be manually turned on or off however there are instances when it will get enabled on its own. Airplane Mode turns itself on
Are you having a problem with your computer because the airplane mode turns on randomly? There are several factors that can cause this issue such as an error with the network adapter driver or even a software glitch. Listed below are the steps you need to do to fix this.

Change the network adapter properties
- Right click on the Start button.
This is located on the lower left side of the screen.
- Click on Device Manager.
This will open the Device Manager window.
- Click on the forward arrow before Network adapters.
This will expand the network adapters list.
- Right click on the network adapter that you are using then click on Properties.
This will open the network adapter properties window.
- Click on the Power Management tab.
This is the last tab on the right.
- Uncheck the box for “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.
This prevents the computer from turning off the network card.
After performing the steps listed above try to check if you still experience the airplane mode turns on automatically in windows 10 issue.
Update your network driver
Another possible factor that can cause this problem is outdated network card drivers which is why you will need to make sure that you have the latest drivers installed.
- Right click Start and select Device Manager.
- Look for the Network Adapter option and expand it.
- Right click on network adapter and click Update driver.
- Click Windows should automatically search for updated driver software. An online search will start for the driver to be updated.
- You will get a confirmation message which says Windows has successfully updated your driver software.
- Restart your computer.
Turn off Airplane Mode manually
You can turn off Airplane Mode from the action center
- Open the Action Center by clicking on the Windows+A keys.
- Make sure “Airplane mode” does not have a blue color. If it does then click on it once to turn off airplane mode.
You can turn off Airplane Mode from the network icon
- Click the “Network” icon in the taskbar notification area.
- Make sure “Airplane mode” does not have a blue color. If it does then click on it once to turn off airplane mode.
You can turn off Airplane Mode from settings
- Click on the Start button.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Network & Internet.
- Click on Airplane Mode on the left pane.
- Turn off the switch for Airplane Mode.
