How To Fix Spotify Failed To Migrate Some Of Your Data Issue
Before performing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below it’s best to restart your computer first. This action refreshes the operating system and remove any corrupt temporary data that could be causing the problem.
One of the main reasons why this problem occurs is due to error in the registry entry. It could also be caused by a faulty installation. Listed below are the recommended steps that you need to do to fix this problem.
Reinstall Spotify
One of the quickest ways to fix this problem is to reinstall Spotify.
- Press Winkey + X and click on ‘Apps and Features’ located at the top of the list.
- Search for Spotify.
- Uninstall Spotify
- Go to the Spotify website then download Spotify.
- Install Spotify.
Check if the Spotify failed to migrate some of your data issue still occurs.
Delete the Spotify Registry Entry
If reinstalling the software fails to fix the problem then you will need to remove its registry entries.
- End all of the Spotify processes from Task Manager
- Go to the directory {User}\AppData\Roaming\ where user is your user account folder. Delete any Spotify folder found here.
- Go to the directory {User}\AppData\Local\ where user is your user account folder. Delete any Spotify folder found here.
- Go to the directory {User}\AppData\Local\Packages\ where user is your user account folder. Delete any Spotify folder found here.
- Press Winkey + X and click on ‘Apps and Features’ located at the top of the list.
- Search for Spotify.
- Uninstall Spotify
- Press Winkey + R to open Run and type in ‘Regedit’.
- Copy and paste the following address in the address bar of the Registry Editor: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
- Delete the Spotify entry from the registry.
- Reboot your system and install Spotify again.
Check if the Spotify failed to migrate some of your data issue still occurs.
