Yes, the RTX Super is strong enough to play many 4k games, even allowing you to reach 60 fps per second in some games.
Is the 2080 TI better than the 2080 Super?
When it comes to more features and more specifications, the 2080 Ti is a better option. It is faster than the 2080 Super and comes with better CUDA cores and more boost clocks.
What is the difference between 2080 Super and 2080 TI?
The main difference is on the memory bandwidth (from 14Gbps to 15.5 Gbps) and increased boost clock speeds (from 1515MHz to1650 MHz).
Is getting 2080 Super worth it?
2080 Super is a powerful GPU that delivers in terms of gaming performance. Although it may not be as powerful as 2080 Ti, the fact that it’s relatively cheaper makes it the better value for money.
Is the RTX 2080 TI future proof?
Yes, it’s the ideal future proof GPU right now, if your concern is on resolutions and high frame rates.
Comparing 2080 super vs 2080 Ti best 4K Gaming Graphic Card
Both the 2080 Super and 2080 Ti are unique in their rights. But if you are looking at sheer power, it’s obvious the 2080 Ti takes the lead. However, power is not the single factor to consider when making a buying decision between these two graphics cards.
You still need to look at the target resolution, performance, and the real value for money. Here, we are pitching 2080 super against 2080 Ti to see which one will best suit your PC needs.

2080 Super vs 2080 Ti best 4K Gaming Graphic Card – Features
Both of RTX 2080 Super and 2080 Ti come packed with a strong performance. We are going to look at the features of each of them to find out how they are different from each other. Let’s begin with the RTX 2080 Super graphics card.
Without any doubt, the 2080 Super is a powerful piece of hardware. It is clocked at 15.5 Gbps and equipped with 8 GBGDDR6 as well as 3,072 CUDA cores. It is always going to be regarded as one of the most powerful NVIDIA graphics cards, although it’s not as powerful as the 2080 Ti model.
When we were testing 2080 Super, we discovered a 6% increase in performance from the previous RTX 2080 model, but a 12 % decrease in performance against the more recent 2080 Ti model.
On the other hand, RTX 2080 Ti is tougher than RTX 2080 Super. Although it cost almost twice as much as the 2080 Super graphics card, the fact remains that it offers superior performance and features.
It delivers some breathtaking specifications such as a boost clock of 1,635MHz, 4,352 CUDA cores, and 11GB of GDDR6 VRAM. All these performance highlights of the 2080 Ti are thanks to its 90MHz factory overclock capability.
RTX 2080 Ti also comes with two additional core types that were lacking in the 2080 Super graphics card. These are installed in the form of sensor cores, allowing the GPU to perform speedily in more complex tasks than previous generations can handle. Also, the RTX 2080 Ti has additional ports compared to its 2080 Super counterpart.
NVIDIA has maintained a high-bandwidth connector for many years, as it extended to the RTX Super graphic cards. However, it has been changed to the NV Link, promising 50 times the transfer bandwidth of the previous system.
And with 2080Ti having two of the connectors, it delivers 100 GB of total bandwidth which will come in handy when powering multiple 8K monitors.
At the back of the 2080 Ti GPU, there is an additional USB-C video port that is very useful among new monitors. You will also find the USB-C Gen2 port which provides support for UHD video. This allows you to use only one cable to connect your future virtual reality headsets.

2080 super vs 2080 Ti best 4K Gaming Graphic Card – Hardware
As both of their names indicate, the GPUs are from the same lineup of the NVIDIA GeForce 12nm Turin microarchitecture. As a result, both of them are equipped with GDDR6 RAM and real-time tracking capabilities. However, when it comes to hardware specifications, there are some noticeable differences between 2080 Super and 2080 Ti.
The 2080 Super is the latest and more recent version compared to 2080 Ti. The RTX 2080 Super was released in 2019, which comes a year after the launch of RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti.
While the Super variant is more powerful than the original RTX 2080, it’s still less powerful than the 2080 Ti.
Although the 2080 Super comes with higher clock speeds than what 2080 Ti offers, the Ti variant is better than Super variant in other aspects.
2080Ti has more Tensor cores, more ray-tracing cores, and more CUDA cores, which gives it better performance than 2080 Super.
While we’re still at performance, it’s difficult to find out if a particular GPU is better than another for in-game functions based on specifications alone. So, we also need to compare them according to their gaming performance.
2080 super vs 2080 ti best 4K Gaming Graphic Card – gaming Performance
To gauge the gaming performance of both GPUs, we carried out a series of tests and performance benchmarks.
We tested both graphics cards in the game, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Here, we discovered that the 2080 Ti showed a superior level of performance over its 2080 Super counterpart. It offered 19.1 percent more in 4K, 17 percent more in 144p, and 12.5 percent more in 1080p.
We also compared both GPUs in the Metro Exodus benchmark using ultra settings at 4K resolution. We got around 44 fps on the 2080 Ti model and 40 fps on its predecessor. That’s an increase of 4 fps or just 10%. It may not be a huge difference but it’s still an improvement. However, we’re not sure if the slight improvement warrants the extra cost of getting the 2080 Ti.
In another test we carried out on 3DMark, we got similar results. In Firestrike Ultra, the 2080 Super scored 6,281 points against the 6,636 points for 2080 Ti. That’s a 6% improvement, which is also not very expansive.
Again, we used the TimeSpy Extreme benchmark on both GPUs. We got a similar result, with 2080 Super scoring 4,656 and 2080 Ti scoring 4,867. Again, that’s about a 6% difference between their performance levels.
Each game we tested brought different results, depending on how well-optimized and demanding the game is.
While we were testing, we noticed that with higher resolutions, the performance gap widens a bit. The reason is because of the extra 3GB memory of 2080 Ti which has both wider memory bus and higher bandwidth. That’s why the performance level was wider at 4K than at other resolution levels.
So, in this case, if you’re using a lower resolution like 1080p, the gaming performance difference will not be easily noticed. But when using 4K resolution, you will notice the difference easily.
2080 super vs 2080 ti best 4K Gaming Graphic Card – Value for money
This is where many PC builders would want to settle for 2080 super rather than 2080 Ti. When you measure cost and performance for each of these GPUs, the 2080 Super will always give you a better value for money.
That’s because you are probably getting a 20% improvement on 2080 Ti from 2080 Super. But the former cost almost as twice as much as the latter. So, if you’re looking at the cost/performance ratio, NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super will provide better benefits for you.
But some people still choose to settle for 2080 Ti because of the extra performance feature they are getting despite the high cost. So, it still depends on your preference and what you hope to achieve with your system.
But if you are strictly looking at the performance-per-dollar ratio, RTX 2080 Super gladly takes the lead.
The right type of GPU to choose between RTX 2080 super and RTX 2080 Ti comes down to your budget and preference. Surely, 2080 Ti will give you improved performance almost at all levels.
But you have to pay a bit higher, which we may not call a shrewd investment. However, if money is not a major factor determining your buying decision, 2080 Ti is the right choice. Otherwise, 2080 Super still comes with an impressive performance and at a more affordable price as well.
