5 Best Liquid CPU Cooler For Ryzen 1800 In 2019

If there’s one type of processor that you need to be concerned about cooling with, that would be eight-core or oct-core processors. They do an excellent job at providing you top performance, but with that extra performance comes more heat generation. Suffice to say, you’ll need to make sure you have decent cooling fans for the Ryzen 1800, but you might also want to consider a more reliable and efficient way to cool your processor: a liquid cooler.

If you’re not sure how to get started with liquid cooling, or even what type of equipment you might need, then be sure to stick with us — we’re diving into the five best liquid CPU cooler available for the processor.

Alphacool Eisbaer 280

Coming in as our number five contender, we’re looking at the Alphacool Eisbaer 280. This is a wonderful liquid CPU cooler for those that don’t want to spend too much money on a liquid cooling system, but also want a top performer. You just can’t go wrong with the premium Eiswind 140 fans that are built into the Eisbaer 280 radiator. Not only that, but it comes with the water pump you need straight out of the box.

What we really like about this one is that it’s one of the few liquid cooler that don’t require any additional software that you have to download and setup. After you built this into your system, setup the drivers, and you can manage and customize your Alphacool Eisbaer 280 all from the system BIOS, no third-party programs required. This one is actually available in a wide array of different radiator sizes — 120mm, 140mm, 240mm, 280mm, 360mm, and even 420mm. If you’re running a Ryzen 1800X, you’ll definitely want to look at one of the higher-end radiator sizes. Price does jump the larger you go in radiator size.

Corsair H100I V2

You might be surprised to see Corsair on our list, but with all the expertise they already have in PC components, they’re able to make an excellent liquid CPU cooler — the H100I V2. This cooling system works really well, but one of the highlights is that it’s extremely versatile, working with AM4 and LGA 1151 sockets, as well as many older sockets. Unlike the Eisbaer, you cannot adjust performance from the BIOS — you’ll have to download Corsair’s own software on your PC — the iCUE software. This allows you to make a number of adjustments, including control over the RGB colors, fan speed, and etc.

Corsair H100I PRO RGB

Our number three pick is the Corsair H100I PRO RGB. This one is extremely similar to the last one we just covered, but this one is geared more towards enthusiasts. Liquid cooling performance is essentially the same here, but with the PRO RGB, you have the ability to customize lights and make the PC silent through Zero RPM Mode.

Your primary lighting ability here is on the water pump itself — there’s a number of colors that you can customize it within the downloadable iCUE software. Not only that, but you can control individual fan speeds and pump speed from the iCUE. If you want, you can even monitor coolant temperatures in real time from the program. Zero RPM Mode is one of our favorite features here, where cooling fans stop entirely when your processor is at a low temperature, eliminating noise from your PC entirely.

Thermaltake 240 Water 3.0

Our number two pick is from Thermaltake — the 240mm Water 3.0 liquid cooler. While this was designed for the average consumer in mind, this cooler is a workhorse and will keep your Ryzen 1800X cool without much of a problem, even under heavy loads, and especially during overclocking.

This 240 Water 3.0 is similar to Thermaltake’s higher-end model, the Floe Riing Cooler, which has the same cooling expertise, but had support for managing your liquid cooling from an app on your phone, as well as a bunch of RGB lighting. The 240mm Water 3.0 liquid cooler ditches both of those features to make it affordable for the average consumer; however, you still get the same high performance cooling power here. Not only that, but it’s extremely quiet, as the built-in governor does an excellent job at limiting fan RPMs, especially under heavy loads. We wouldn’t hesitate to use this one for overclocking or demanding tasks like programming or high-end gaming.

Corsair H115I Pro

We really like what Corsair is offering in the H115I Pro liquid cooler. Like many of the others on our compilation, this one comes in a variety of radiator sizes, and you’ll want a larger one if you’re doing some heavy lifting with your 1800X. The dual-fan liquid cooler is able to stay quiet, provide excellent fan performance, excellent airflow, etc. As with many of the other Corsair models on our list, just about everything can be managed with the iCUE software.

Verdict

As you can see, there are a lot of excellent liquid CPU coolers available for the Ryzen 1800X. So which one do you choose? Any one of these will do an excellent job at keeping your system cool, but if you’re running your processor through some demanding tasks, then the Corsair H115I Pro or the Thermaltake 240 Water 3.0 will be the more reliable choice.
