Checking email from other accounts using Gmail

If Gmail is your primary email but you also have email accounts from other service providers then what you will usually do is to access each of these email accounts from their platforms. This can often be a tedious process, to speed things up a bit you can actually access all of your other email accounts from Gmail. Here’s how you can do it.

Prerequisites:

  • Make sure the other email account supports secure connections. 
  • Make sure that the other email account has POP access.

Adding other emails to Gmail from Settings

You can easily add your other email accounts in Gmail from its settings.

Time needed: 5 minutes.

Check other email account using Gmail

  1. Open Gmail.

    You can do this by going to gmail.com from your browser.Add External Email To Gmail

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Settings.

    This is the third option from the top.click Setting

  4. Click the Accounts and import tab.

    This is the fourth tab on top of the window.accounts and import

  5. Click Import mail and contacts.

    This can be found on the right pane.import mail and contacts

  6. Enter the other email account address.

    You can do this from the new window that appears.sign in to your other email account

  7. Click the continue button

    This will proceed with the sign in process.click continue

  8. Click the Yes button on the new window that appears.

    This allows Gmail to access your other email.click continue button

  9. Click the Start import button.

    This will import the contacts, mail, and new mail for the next 30 days.Add External Email To Gmail

Delete other email account from Gmail

If you want to remove your other email account from Gmail then here’s how you can do it.

  • Open Gmail.
  • Click Settings.
  • Click Settings.
  • Click the Accounts and import tab.
  • Delete the other email from the Import mail and contacts section.

After performing the steps listed above you will successfully add external email to Gmail.
